A Jurassic sea (known as the Sundance Sea) extended down into modern day Utah, creating a rich mineral deposit unlike any other on Earth.
60 Million Years Ago
A volcanic eruption deposited ash over the sea minerals, creating a protective cap of bentonite that preserved these precious resources.
