In addition to organic lime flavor, Chili Lime and Taco Seasonings contain a small amount of other ingredients from natural sources to restore the lime flavor that gets broken down when lime is dehydrated into powdered form. This proprietary blend of “natural flavors” is less than 0.5% of the total recipe and each individual ingredient of the blend is even less than that, which is why they are not required to be individually listed on the label.
Yes! All Real Salt Seasonings are certified USDA organic, which means they are also non-GMO.
All of our seasonings are vegetarian and most of them are vegan. Wasatch Steak contains butter powder and is not vegan, but our other seasonings (Taco, Chili Lime, Red Rock BBQ, Season Salt, Onion Salt, Garlic Salt, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Pepper) are entirely plant based.
Real Salt Organic Seasonings are made of shelf-stable ingredients that stay safe indefinitely, so they never expire. Just like other natural salts, our ancient, unrefined sea salt is an effective natural preservative, which keeps the products in all our seasonings fresh and safe for the long term. For the best taste, they should be consumed within a couple of years of packaging because the flavor can break down, but they don’t go 'bad' like some foods. The lot number is also the packaging date and is found on the bottom of the shaker. If you live in a humid area, you may notice that the seasonings start to flow less freely or clump together over time. This happens because the salt attracts water. But even when it happens, the seasonings are perfectly safe to use.
